Vintage Galo de Barcelos Rooster Figurines Job Lot 6 Portuguese Folk Art Vintage Portuguese Galo de Barcelos rooster figurine job lot comprising six assorted folk art ornaments in a mixture of sizes, colours and finishes. The collection includes five brightly painted traditional Barcelos cockerels decorated in black, red, green, yellow, blue and white, with the characteristic dotted, floral and heart-shaped motifs. Also included is one larger silver-coloured embossed rooster decorated with floral and heart details. Several of the painted figures are marked "Portugal" to the base. The colourful Galo de Barcelos, or Rooster of Barcelos, is one of Portugal's best-known traditional symbols and has long been produced as a decorative souvenir and folk art design. Condition: Fair vintage condition overall with paint loss, chips, scratches, rubbing, tarnishing, surface marks and general age-related wear throughout. The largest painted rooster has noticeable paint loss around the comb and other raised areas. The silver-coloured example shows tarnishing, rubbing and surface wear consistent with age.
